Financial Analyst Resume Example

Financial analyst roles in Indian corporates, NBFCs, and Big-4 advisory firms are screened for modelling depth, the scale of decisions your analysis supported, and tool proficiency (Excel, Power BI, Bloomberg). Recruiters want to see deal values or AUM sizes, forecast accuracy improvements, and the specific model types you built — DCF, LBO, comparable transactions. CFA progress is a strong differentiator and is treated as a hard filter at many investment banks and AMCs.

Resume tips

  • State the deal values or AUM sizes your analysis supported — ₹320 crore M&A or ₹2,400 crore AUM are far more compelling than 'built financial models'.
  • Quantify forecast accuracy improvement (e.g. ±12% → ±5%) to show your models are operationally trusted, not just theoretical exercises.
  • List your CFA level explicitly and in-progress exam date — many buy-side and advisory JDs treat CFA progress as a first-round filter.
  • Name the specific model types (DCF, LBO, merger model) and the sector (manufacturing, retail, BFSI) for each engagement.
