Foundry looks typeset. Colour appears once, as a heavy rule along the top edge of each page. Below it your name is set in a very large serif, the largest of any PaperKit template, with a pale rule under it that stops well short of the right margin. Every section then opens on a thin full-width line, with its heading in bold sans-serif capitals in black; the accent colour never touches the type.

How the rules and type do the work
- Each section starts with a hairline across the full width and an uppercase heading, which gives a parser an unmistakable heading and a person a clear place to start reading.
- Headings, name and body are all in black and grey, so the page photocopies cleanly whatever scheme you pick.
- Role and organisation sit on separate lines with the dates at the right in a monospaced face, and the bullets are short grey dashes.
- The coloured rule sits on the very top edge of the paper. The PDF always has it, most home and office printers will trim it, and the page still works without it.
How much fits on one page
The name takes real space at the top, but below it the page is one hairline per section and nothing else, so the body is efficient. Four to five roles fit comfortably. Because each section has its own line above it, many short sections such as publications, licences, memberships and languages stay organised without running together. Registrations with a bar council or a professional institute read well as a one-line-each Certifications list.
When to use something else
The very large name suits a long career and can look oversized on a first resume. With under three years to show, use Fresher, which is built to fill a page well at that stage. And if you need a photo on the page, Foundry does not offer one; Slate is the single-column layout that does.

- It sits on the very edge of the paper, and most printers leave an unprinted margin of a few millimetres. The rule is in the PDF. To print it, use a printer that supports borderless printing, or accept a plain top edge; nothing else in the design depends on it.
