What is PaperKit?
PaperKit is a free online document builder at paperkit.in, made by the Indian software studio CodeSierra. Four tools are live: a resume builder with twenty-two templates and a live ATS score; a marriage biodata maker that starts in English, Hindi or Marathi with a photograph, kundali rows and family details; a job biodata maker for the one-page sheet an employer or a government-adjacent form asks for; and a letter maker covering eight formal letters. In all four you fill in a form while the real PDF renders beside you, then download that same file, with no account, no watermark and nothing to pay. More paper document tools will follow. It is sometimes written as two words, "Paper Kit".
Is PaperKit really free?
Yes. PaperKit's resume builder, marriage biodata maker, job biodata maker and letter maker are free to build with, free to edit, and free to download as a PDF on every template: no trial, no card, no account and no watermark. For four days in September 2026 twelve of the forty templates were sold as one-time unlocks; they are not sold any more, and every template on the site now downloads on the same terms as every other. No template that was free has ever moved behind a payment.
Do I need to create an account?
No. PaperKit's four builders have no sign-up and no login: open the tool and start typing, and your work is saved in your own browser. Nothing on the site asks you to sign in: not to build, not to switch template, and not to download the PDF.
How is PaperKit different from the resume builders that charge to download?
Most resume builders let you build for free and then ask for payment at the download step, so the work you have just done is held behind a subscription. PaperKit does not do that: every template downloads as a PDF with nothing to pay, no card, no account and no watermark to remove. The download button is the product, not the upsell. PaperKit is funded by ads on its guide and format pages, never inside an editor and never between you and a finished document.
ATS & templates
How many resume templates does PaperKit have?
PaperKit has 22 templates. 12 are single-column and ATS-safe; 10 are Showcase layouts with colour bands, tinted paper and a photo slot, meant for a human reader rather than a scanner.
Will my resume pass an ATS?
Twelve of PaperKit's twenty-two resume templates are single-column and parsable: one column top to bottom, section headings as real text rather than images, and no sidebars or background graphics. That covers every ATS-first, Classic and Technical template, plus Split from the Executive set. The live score flags anything a scanner might misread. The other ten, which are the Showcase templates along with Masthead, Lantern and Sovereign, are labelled as not ATS-safe, with their specific risks listed on each template's own page.
Can I switch templates later?
Yes. In PaperKit a template is a design layer over your content, so you can switch at any point in the editor. Your content carries over untouched and the ATS score updates instantly. Keeping an ATS-safe copy for job portals and a Showcase copy for a direct approach costs nothing.
Can I choose A4 or US Letter?
Yes. PaperKit prints to A4 or US Letter, chosen in the editor, with narrow (12mm), normal (18mm) or wide (25mm) margins. The page count and where each page breaks are shown as you type, so a two-page resume never surprises you at the download step.
Marriage biodata
Can I make a marriage biodata on PaperKit?
Yes. PaperKit's marriage biodata maker at paperkit.in/biodata-maker is free and needs no account. You start from a complete sample document, replace the details with your own, add a photograph, and fill in the horoscope rows (rashi, nakshatra, gotra, manglik) along with family details and partner expectations. Six of PaperKit's templates are drawn for a biodata rather than adapted from a resume, and every one of them downloads as a PDF with no watermark and nothing to pay.
Can I make a marriage biodata in Hindi or Marathi?
Yes. PaperKit's biodata maker ships complete starting documents in English, Hindi and Marathi, and every row label is editable text rather than fixed interface wording, so "Height" can become "उंची" in the words your own family uses. The Devanagari font is bundled with the site and used by the PDF renderer, so a Hindi or Marathi biodata prints as real text instead of empty boxes.
Job biodata
What is a job biodata, and how is it different from a marriage biodata?
A job biodata is the one-page sheet an employer, a school or college office, or a government-adjacent form asks for: a photograph, your father's and mother's name, date of birth, languages, address, then education with years and marks, whatever work you have done, and a signed declaration. A marriage biodata is a different document entirely. It carries rashi, nakshatra, gotra, family details and partner expectations, and no employer asks for any of those. Should I send a job biodata or a resume?
It depends who is reading it. Send a resume if you are applying through a company careers portal or a job site, because applications arriving that way are usually read by an applicant tracking system before a person sees them, and a tabular sheet led by personal details gives that software little to work with. Send a biodata when a small firm, a school office or a government-adjacent form asks for one by name, or when the form has a proforma expecting a father's name and a date of birth. PaperKit makes both, and both download with no account, no card and no watermark.
What do I write in a job biodata if I have no work experience?
Keep the Experience heading and write one honest line, such as "Fresher, no prior employment. Available to join immediately", rather than deleting the section or padding it. Anything real that is not a job still belongs there: an internship, industrial training, an apprenticeship, a final-year project, or work in a family business. Put Education above Experience, give a year for every qualification including school, and use the Skills and Certificates rows to carry the things a small employer actually screens on, such as a computer course, typing, or a driving licence.
Formal letters
Can I write a formal letter on PaperKit?
Yes. PaperKit's letter maker at paperkit.in/letter-maker is free and needs no account. It opens on a finished letter of the type you pick (leave application, cover letter, offer letter, appointment letter, experience letter, relieving letter, NOC or self-declaration), with the letterhead, date, addressee block, subject line, body and signature already in place. You type over it, choose one of six letterheads, and download a one-page PDF with no watermark. Every letterhead downloads with nothing to pay and no account.
Which letter formats does PaperKit have?
PaperKit has eight formal letter formats, each with a guide at paperkit.in/letter-formats: leave application, cover letter for a job application, offer letter, appointment letter, experience letter, relieving letter, NOC (no objection certificate) and self-declaration. Every guide explains the letter block by block, shows the exact sample the maker opens on, and covers the situations the letter changes for: a school leave application against an office one, an internship offer against a full-time one, a NOC for a visa against one from a landlord.
On mobile
Does PaperKit work on my phone?
Yes. PaperKit is built mobile-first and runs well on mid-range Android phones over capped data, which is how most people in India actually apply for a job or send a biodata.
Can I download a PDF on mobile?
Yes. Download PDF works the same on a phone as on a laptop: the file is built in the browser and saved straight to your device.
Data & privacy
Where is my resume stored?
In your own browser, using localStorage, so your draft survives closing the tab. This is true of a resume and of a marriage biodata: PaperKit has no document database and cannot read your draft.
Does my resume leave my device when I download it?
Yes, and it is worth knowing: nothing is sent anywhere. PaperKit builds the PDF inside the browser tab with the same renderer that draws the preview you are looking at, so the download matches the editor exactly: correct page breaks, real fonts, and a text layer an applicant tracking system can read. It used to print on PaperKit's own server through a headless Chromium; it no longer does, so there is no upload, no server-side copy and nothing to delete afterwards. The download also works with no network once the page has loaded.
Do you sell my data?
No. PaperKit never sells data, and nothing you type into a resume or a marriage biodata is used to train models or shared with advertisers. The Privacy Policy sets out the full detail of the PDF render step.
