What is a biodata?
Biodata is a document common in India that adds personal information — date of birth, gender, marital status, religion, nationality, and family details — alongside professional qualifications. It was standard for government job applications decades ago and is still used for some PSU and state government roles. It is also used in matrimonial contexts. For modern private-sector jobs, submitting a biodata with personal details is inappropriate and unnecessary.
